Betty B. Jones

Janesville- Betty B. Jones, of Janesville, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital on Friday, June 24, 2011. She was 91 years old. She was born in Hartford, Wisconsin on August 18, 1919, the daughter of Harry E. and Doris E. (Tackman) Pelzer. She attended Hartford Grade and High Schools before graduating from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She served two and a half years in the Army Nurse Corps, one and a half years of that time in Great Britain. She married Walter D. Jones in Hartford on June 8, 1946. She has been a Janesville resident since 1959. She was employed as a registered nurse for 18 years at Janesville Riverview Clinic. After retiring in 1981 she enjoyed travelling around the country and spending time with her husband Walter in their north woods cabin. She is survived by three sons: David of Bayfield, WI; Robert of Janesville, WI; and Thomas of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, and one great-grand-daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Walter (Buck) Jones The family requests that memorials be made in Betty's name to HospiceCare, Inc.
