Bernardine "Bernie" Juno

WAUKESHA/MADISON – Bernardine “Bernie” Juno, age 75 of Madison and formerly of Waukesha, passed away at the Agrace HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, Wis., on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, following a long illness.   She was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 10, 1945, the daughter of Victor and Anna (Linkovitz) Bagin. Bernie graduated from Madison West High School and Marquette University. She founded and was executive director of Hebron House of Hospitality, the largest nonprofit provider of services to the homeless men, women and children of Waukesha County. Bernie was a strong advocate for the homeless and those who could not advocate for themselves.   Bernie was the proud recipient of the Key to the City (Waukesha) in 2011 and the Women of Influence - Inspiration award in June 2011.   Bernie is survived by two children, Kyle (Lorie) Juno and Stacey (Kevin Klimecky) Juno; four grandchildren, Brendan (Alexis Johnson), Darren and Lindsay Juno, and Emily (Corey) Miller; two great-grandchildren, Juniper and Jude Miller; a sister, Sandra “Sandy” Rumsey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, with Fr. Scott Emerson, JCL presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
