Barbara J. Clayton

MADISON Barbara Jean Clayton, age 69 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Belmont Nursing Home in Madison. She was born in Fort Atkinson, Wis., on Dec. 18, 1948, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Peterson) Clayton. Barb attended Central High School in Madison and worked for many years at Capital Indemnity Corporation. She painted in high school, loved to make cut-out cookies for holidays, loved spending time with family, grandchildren and friends. She loved music and going for walks. Survivors include a son, David (April) Clayton; daughter, Renee Clayton; five grandchildren; a brother, Thomas (Judy) Clayton; sisters, Debbie (Melvin) Johnson and Mary (Larry) Rismeyer; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Karen. Barb was preceded in death by her father, George Clayton; mother, Dorothy Herlitz; step-father, Don Herlitz, Sr.; step-brother, Don Herlitz; and sister-in-law, Patricia Clayton. A celebration of Barbs life will be held soon and will be announced. Barb was a kind loving soul whom loved talking to everyone.
