MARSHALL - Arlene Woldt, age 85, died on August 25, 2013 after a valiant fight against cancer. Arlene grew up in the Sun Prairie and Marshall area and resided on Main Street in Marshall since 1960. Arlene was born on May 27, 1928 in Sun Prairie to Mark and Frieda Haberman. Her kindness and gentle nature brought great joy to those who she surrounded with love. Arlene loved to watch the Green Bay Packers, play bingo, and enjoyed hosting the Marshall Festival parade luncheon at her home. She is survived by three children; Dale (Bev) Woldt of Marshall, Susan Woldt of Marshall, and Mary (Steve) Falter of Madison; daughter-in-law, Darlene Woldt of Madison; four much-loved grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Goldade of Rio, Nick Woldt (friend Maria McGinnis) of Sun Prairie, Chris Woldt (fiancé Carla Franciose) of Brooklyn, New York, and Mitch (Lindsay) Woldt of Stillwater, MN; one step-granddaughter, Denise (Harlan) Knutson and their two sons, Hayden and Justin, of Oslo MN; a much anticipated great-grandchild in September; her sister, Cleo (Bob) Smith of Sun Prairie and their family; several brothers-in-law and their families; and many wonderful friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl in 1985; her son Duane in 2009; a brother, Melvin Haberman; sister, Irene Schmitt; and her step-grandson, Derek Walsvick in 1990. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, MARSHALL CAMPUS, 120 S. Beebe St., Marshall on Thursday, August 29, 2013 beginning at 1 p.m. with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding. Burial in the church cemetery will follow. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the time of service. A lunch at the church will follow the funeral. A special THANK YOU to Dr Frontiera and his staff for his many years of support and the wonderful caring staff at Columbus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We will miss you Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma but will always carry you in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials of remembrance to the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison.
