She met Eric Towers Harrison while working at Abbott Labs. They married July 12, 1940 in Zion. Their first home was in Buckley Hills in Waukegan, Illinois. For many years, she was an active member of Grace Missionary Church in Zion. She worked in the nursery caring for the babies. To those who knew her, she was an excellent example of a Christ Follower. Until she died, she read her devotions on a regular basis. Her family was very important to her. The area near Devils Lake, Wisconsin was a favorite destination. Lodi, Wisconsin was their summer home for many years after Eric retired. Wintering in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, they were active members of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Ardis enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also was an avid walker for many years. She enjoyed playing games with the grandkids, as well as reading stories and singing to them.
