Ann Jones

MADISON - Ann Jones, age 91, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at St. Mary's Care Center, in Madison. She was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Peshtigo, to Edmund and Emily (Archambault) Dupuis. Ann graduated from Peshtigo High School in June 1939. She attended Nursing School at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee and began working at St. Joseph's Hospital in Menominee, Mich. in 1942. She met and married Mattias Ojala in January 1944. Ann gave birth to two children, Robert Ojala of Chicago and Alice Ojala Johnson of Madison. In 1980, Ann moved to Sun Prairie where she worked at the Colonial Club as the Housing Coordinator for the Colonial View Apartments, Colonial Acres, Boulevard Apartments and Evora Lodge. Ann met and married Fred Jones in September 1982. Fred brought two grown sons, Fred and Mark; two grown daughters, Terri Bevins and Holly Kane; and stepgrandchildren, Jennie (deceased), Sean, Mandy, Nicola and Sammi Jones. Fred preceded Ann in death on June 15, 1994. Ann continued as Resident Manager and office worker at Evora Lodge until June 10, 2000. Ann's son, Robert Ojala, has six children, Susan (Eric) Myers, Rachel (Justin) Dumke, Claire, David and Anne Ojala and Ellen (Kevin) Benes. Robert has five grandchildren, Alex, Ethan and Sophia Myers and Brycen and Caden Dumke. Ann's daughter, Alice Johnson, has three children, Todd (Kristen Brose) Lynwood and Bruce and Bridget Johnson. Alice has three grandchildren, Connor Lynwood and Jesse and Elijah Johnson. Ann's deceased siblings are Edmund, Adrian and Agnes Dupuis; and she is survived by Francis Dupuis and Mary Loser of Peshtigo and Kateri Dupuis of Milwaukee. Ann lived in the Sun Prairie area and remained active with the Colonial Club residents until her stroke in 2007, at which time she became a resident at St. Mary's Care Center. A memorial service will be held at the COLONIAL CLUB, 301 Blankenheim Lane in Sun Prairie on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a private burial afterwards.
