Alma V. Dees

MADISON - Alma V. (Bavery) Dees died at the home of her daughter on Oct. 2, 2014 from natural causes at the age of 92. She was born May 31, 1922 to Elmer and Hazel (Clampitt) Bavery. She grew up in Basco, IL, moving to Chicago when she was 17 to join the Navy. That is where she also met Howard D. Dees and they were married on May 9, 1947. In 1953 they moved to Madison. She is survived by her children, Paul Dees of Dodgeville, Donald (Lynn) Dees of Fitchburg and Debra Dees of Fitchburg; grandchildren, John (Rachel) Dees of Dodgeville, Jennifer (Corey Peters) Dees of Seattle WA, and Samuel Dees of Fitchburg; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Dylan Dees of Dodgeville; her sister, Joan Comstock of Carthage, IL; nieces, Doris Jean Knoche of Chicago and Paula Kay Lowman of Warsaw IL.; nephews, Mike Bavery of Carthage IL, Marc Huls of Carthage IL, Ronnie Bentall of Denver, CO and Randy Bentall of Valparaiso, IN; and dear friend of 61 years, Dorthea McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howie on October 28, 1975; brother, Paul Bavery; sisters, Virginia Knoche, Ruth Bavery, Fern Bentall; and nephews, Dennis and Max Huls. In keeping with Alma's wishes there'll be no services. A private family burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison at a later time.
