MADISON – Alma L. Somersett, age 79 entered into eternal life on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011 at the HospiceCare Center, surrounded by her family. Alma was an avid reader, crafter and loved spending quality time with family and friends. She worked over 20 years at Dodge County Mental Health Center in Juneau as a CNA and later for Independent Living in Madison. Alma was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on March 13, 1932, the daughter of Elizabeth Bright and Louis Charles Whiteside, but was later adopted and raised by Lawrence and Jean Mabin. She is survived by four daughters, Jean Somersett, Antonia Wilson, Sherry Schultz, and Denise White; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; three sisters; five brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Shirley Whitlow; and a daughter, Antonetta Mason. A private family celebration will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Alma’s name to HospiceCare Foundation, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy., Madison, WI 53711. We love you and we will forever miss your loving soul and spirit.
