Christopher Vernon Petit

MADISON – Christopher Vernon Petit, age 56 of Madison, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born Aug. 20, 1954 in New London, Wis., the son of Vernon and Margaret Petit. He married Mary B. Neumeyer on Dec. 11, 1976 in Manitowoc, Wis. Chris spent much of his life as a full-time volunteer minister, serving side by side with his wife as a missionary in Ecuador for five years, before returning to raise their son. He worked for many years as a bus driver and a teacher for the Middleton-Cross Plains School District. Chris is survived by his wife, Mary; son, David (Danielle) Petit; his mother; five brothers, Phil, Noel, Greg, Rock and Dominic; and four sisters, Yvonne, Michelle, Julie and Annette. He will also be dearly missed by many who have known him over the years and have become his dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be held at the KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES, 542 Pleasant View Rd., Middleton, on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Kingdom Hall on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
